Total Indicative Remuneration package $451,160 for this position includes the following:

One full time vacancy fixed from 02/02/2026 for up to 5 years is available
We are offering a Full time (FTE) Public Cardiology position in a unique setting based at Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) but caring for patients from across the southern NT, including those from remote communities throughout Central Australia and the Barkly region. This role is an opportunity to help build and shape a critical but emerging service for patients with the highest rates of cardiovascular disease in the country. As a result, this role poses a unique chance to dramatically improve patient outcomes and improve one’s professional skills and experience.
The unit has echo, CTCA, CMR, TOE and stress echo in house, supported by a dedicated nursing and echo-sonographer team. The hospital has outstanding ICU and ED support and a close working relationship with the Royal Adelaide Hospital for patients requiring angiography, EP procedures or cardiothoracic surgery. Advanced Trainees rotate from South Australia and the unit has accreditation for up to 6mo of core Cardiology advanced training.
The ASH Cardiology unit conducts regular outreach visits to multiple sites across Central Australia. The hospital has close affiliations with Flinders University entailing many opportunities to become involved in university teaching and research. The unit includes VMOs with a broad range of skills including interventional cardiology, structural intervention, advanced heart failure and heart transplantation, electrophysiology and cardiac imaging.
Core required competency includes FRACP with specialty training in Cardiology. Desired skills include sub-specialty post-fellowship training in 1 or more of non-invasive cardiac imaging or heart failure.
